Quick: Who would you rather sound like – Britney Spears or Abraham Lincoln? Actually, it’s a trick question. If you’re writing pro-motional copy for a youth market, you might well want to sound like Britney. (OK, maybe not, but you get the idea.) Here are three paragraphs I wrote for a single client (I’ve changed the name to protect the innocent). They all say essentially the same thing, but in very different tones. Don’t think of these as the only items on a menu; they’re here just to get you started thinking about how you’d like to sound when you cast your thought shadows.

 

VERSION A
